IRC Swim Team Information
Coaches | Name |
Head Coach | Haley Marchant |
Assistant Coach | Abby Cagle |
To Participate
All participants must sign up through IRC at the Ash Youth Center in order to be a part of the team. The cost is $75 per swimmer. Swimmers need to be able to swim 25 yards (length of the pool) to join.
Practice Schedule
May 29th will be our first day of practice. May 29th-June 20th, we will have two practices. Athletes 11 years and older should try to come at 11am-11:55 and ages 10 and under will have practice from 12:00-12:55pm. If there are siblings and you can only attend one practice, go to the 12pm session, please. Once swim lessons start we will transition to one practice at 12pm. We will practice every day of the week except for Wednesdays. Please remember that this is not swim lessons, this is a team and it is important that your athletes show up to practices and meets because their teammates are relying on them.
Weather
If practice is canceled due to weather, a message will be sent out 30 minutes prior through Team Unify.
Meet Participation
A Team Unify message will be sent Sunday afternoon/evening regarding the meet on the following Wednesday. It is necessary that you register your swimmers so coaches know who is participating in the upcoming meet. Coaches spend a lot of time figuring out what events and relays your swimmers will take part in. Individual event entries will be based on times. Entries will be entered into the computer on Tuesday. You will be added to Team Unify before the first day of practice. Swimmer who plan to attend the League Meet, must have competed in at least two regular season meets.
2025 Meet Schedule

Parent Volunteers at Meets
All parents are required to help at swim meets. Meets cannot start without enough workers. We will be using the online sign up again this year so watch for those emails. Some of the job options include:
Starter (1) - This worker says "Swimmers take your mark."
Ready Bench (4) - Makes sure athletes get to their races on time.
Stroke Judge (1) - Watches a video before the first meet and during the meets marks if athletes are doing the strokes incorrectly.
Timers (3) - Gets the best view of the finishes while they time the races.
Back Up Timer (1) - Has a stopwatch in case one doesn't work.
Runner (2) - The person who collects times from the timers and takes the results to the Time Entry.
Time Entry (1) - Enters times in computer.
Results Table (4) - Labels ribbons at the results table.
Most jobs only require you to work for about half of the swim meet (exceptions are starter, stroke judge, and time entry).
Team Suits
We would like team members to have black and orange swimsuits for competition. They are not required though. The only requirement is that you have a one piece suit for practice and competition. Goggles and swim caps are beneficial but not required. We suggest the suits at the links below:
Thanks for all you do to make the summer swim team program successful for our swimmers! We are looking forward to a great summer! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out!
